Imam Hussain (as) said: He who was sacrificing his life for us, and trained himself to meet Allah then let go with us because I am leaving in the morning Insha'Allah.
Speaking about the companions of Imam Hussain (as) is a speech about the best companions with highest ranks and Superior prestige. Not because they were killed for the sake of the almighty Allah but because they were killed in a time where supporters were very few. While general people were after life precious the (companions) were strangers no-one associates with them nor agree with their path none person of that society fears Allah the almighty. The companions of Imam Hussain (as) were particularized than other supporters because they knew that they will be martyred and certain about not remaining alive however, they went with their Imam looking after meeting Allah the Almighty. They were armored with their hearts over their armors. They were receiving good tidings of favor of what Allah saved for them and were competing each others to martyrdoms, recommending each others on their Imam (as), wishing if they got more than one body and soul to sacrifice to defense their truthful Imam and religion which bloods shaded for, souls sacrificed for, eyes awaken for, and bodies tired for.
To make the picture clearer of those heroes, we quote with the Saying of Imam Hussain (as) on their behalf when he said: 'I swear by Allah, I did not witness companions as my companions.'
The Imam (as) swears by Allah as he don't ever tell a lie or to swear uselessly nor to speak irrationally, nor to talk haphazardly because he is the infallible Imam who's Allah the Almighty created him as pretense on people after his father and brother.
Imam Hussain (as) clarified the position of those companions even though his knowledge of the companions of his grandfather Al-Mustafa (saaw), his father Imam Al-Murtatha (as) and his brother Imam Mujtaba (as). He didn’t say what he said only after he seen companions sold their life to buy the hereafter, gave their souls to survival of the religion, separated from their families and children get satisfaction of the real beloved, they hugged the sands as if they hugs houries (nymphs), they performed the ritual ablution with their blood to do prayers, shacked the swords (handled) with cheerful faces, they faced the arrows with their shinning necks and stable souls and steady feet.
The companions of Imam Hussain (as) means dignity, highness, prestige, eminence pure selves, impure bodies, submitted hearts, tearful eyes, alive conscience, clear minds, strong faith, powerful strength, ever-less stability, hard intentions, knighthood, truth, faithfulness, loyalty, generosity, Mowalat (being loyal to the custodians), Bara'ah (to repudiate the enemies of Ahlulbait AS), vision, intelligence, humility, honor, mystic, worship. They are the Outstrippers, (i.e., those who precede others) the Outstrippers.
Companions of Imam Hussain (as), their enemies praised them before their friends saying they are people of mind and knights of the country and then saying Amr bin Al-Haja shouted on his companions: 'Do you know who you fighting with? You are fighting the knights of the country, people of mind, commando people, any one of you face them will get killed for fighting them. I swear by Allah if you only thrown stones at them you could kill them.'
The infallible Imam described them with the once who stand firm beside the truth and loyalty when he said: 'O my Allah, let me stand firm in safety before You on account of my sincere attachment with Hussain, along with him and his comrades, who sacrificed everything they had (heart, mind, soul and life) for Hussain, peace be on him. (Ziarat Ashura: the sermon of Sajdah (prostration) after Ziarat)
They are the Righteous and good people whom described by Imam Hussain (as) when he said: 'I have never known any companions more loyal or favorable than my companions are, and I have never known any family members more regardful and pious than my family members are.' With this description he denies any companions better than his companions, not in the past, or present nor in the future.
Companions of Imam Hussain (as) were an example in heroism no one else could reach their level. For this reason one of the enemies said: 'If you could see what we have seen you will do as we did! A group revolted against us, their hands holding their swords like wild lions, smashing knights left and aright, throwing themselves towards death and not carrying about safety, not after money, nothing is between them and death or conquer the government. If gave them a little chance they would kill all the army. What could we do O bastard! ('Ansar Al Imam Al-Hussain (as) Althawra wa Althowar' by Sayed Mohamed Ali Al-Helo: Page 50-51) they were like Imam Hussain (as) said about them: "They trained themselves to sacrifice themselves and being killed." This was clarified through their speeches with the Chief of martyrs (as):
1. Hazrat Abolfazl Al Abbas (as) said on behalf of the Family of Ali amongst his brothers and nephews: "Why is it so? Do you want that we should survive after your death? Allah may not keep us alive to see that day".
Then Imam Hussain (as) looked at the sons of Aqil saying: "Muslim’s murder was enough. Get back, I authorized you to go!" They unanimously replied, "If we disperse, people will accuse of that we deserted our Sheikh, leader, and cousin. They will criticize that we never threw an arrow, never used the spear, nor wielded the sword. Never! We shall never do it. We would sacrifice our property, life, and progeny. We shall fight along with you. We shall meet the same fate as yours. Allah may not keep us alive after you quite the world."
2. Sa’d bin Abdullah al-Hanafi said: "We are not leaving you until Allah knows that we protected the Messenger of Allah by you! By Allah, I shall not leave you alone unless they kill me, burn me in fire and reduce me to ashes and blew it in the air. I am ready to meet the same fate seventy times till I diminish in your support." ('Ansar Al-Imam Al-Hussain (as) Althawra wa Althowar' by Sayed Mohamed Ali Al-Helo: Page 50-51)
3. Zuhair ibn al-Qain said: "By God I swear, I wish I would be killed, then revived, then killed, then the same thing is redone to me thousand times, if it is that Allah will save you as well as these youths from your household from death." Then he stood up, all his companions and who attended among the householders of Imam Hussain (as) heard him saying: "O son of messenger of Allah! We heard your speech, but even if the world is remaining, and we were immortals we will prefer to rise up with you than staying in it." ('Ansar Al-Imam Al-Hussain (as) Althawra wa Althowar' by Sayed Mohamed Ali Al-Helo: Page 50-51)
4. Burayr the sheikh of the Quran reciters of Kofa and its jurist he raised up, trusting what he was doing and believing in what is he going through with his companions, Burayr stood and said, "O the son of the Messenger of God! God has honored us to fight with you and may your grandfather be our interceder on the Day of Judgment." ('Ansar Al-Imam Al-Hussain (as) Althawra wa Althowar' by Sayed Mohamed Ali Al-Helo: Page 57-58)
